BARTENDER APPLICATION
Over the past 10 years, Spacebar Arcade has worked to create a unique, down-to-earth atmosphere in the heart of downtown Boise. We are looking to fill a week day bartending position. Our ideal addition will have effortless chemistry with the our patrons and maintain a positive, secure environment for patrons. Tactfulness is a must, ninja skills are a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
​
Although a common stereotype of a bouncer is that of the thuggish brute, Spacebar requires more than just physical qualities such as strength and size: The best bouncers don’t "bounce" anyone; They talk to people.
As the first and last face our guests will see at The Arcade Underground, your role is to introduce our patrons to the atmosphere. Charisma is key. In the front door position, you will greet, check legal age + ID authenticity, provide security for the bar, proactively assist bartenders with side work, handle inappropriate behavior, and tactfully defuse tense situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
​
An ability to judge and communicate well with people will reduce the need for physical intervention, while a charismatic personality will prevent our bouncer from building unnecessary tension with patrons. You must be able to detect the early warning signs of a potential confrontation by sharply observing groups and individuals while remaining laid back enough to recommend your favorite games and drinks.
